MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or GED
- Possession of Valid Class A Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma
- Two years minimum experience in utility construction, maintenance, or related work area
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class “C” ODEQ Waterworks Operator certification
- CDL-A
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED BY POSITION:
- Knowledge of personnel laws, policies, and regulations
- Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, and procedures used in construction.
- Skill in the operation of heavy and light equipment
- Skill in the supervision and managing of personnel.
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Ability to read and interpret plans and designs.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
- The Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature of the results.
GUIDELINES:
- Guidelines include City policies, procedures, and supervisory instructions. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY:
- The work consists of related construction and maintenance duties. Inclement weather and heavy traffic contribute to the complexity of the position.
SCOPE AND EFFECT:
- The purpose of this position is to participate in the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure.

- Contacts are typically with city personnel, property owners, and members of the public.

- Contacts are typically to resolve problems, and to provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- The work is primarily performed while standing and moving about at work sites. Requires the physical dexterity required to operate heavy equipment and enter confined areas and perform manual labor such as digging, fitting pipe and valves. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.

- May lead small 2–3-man crews on job site in absence of foreman or supervisor.
