POSITION SUMMARY:

The position manages customer formulation requirements and ensures product manufacturing norms comply with these requirements for the company’s beverage base blending/packaging facility located in Bartow, FL.  Reporting to the Quality & Food Safety Manager, the position oversees formula management, ensures quality control and compliance, and provides operational support for the facility. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and maintain current/new formulation sheets (MMIs - Master Mix Instructions)
  • Create operational blend sheets and instructions per facility capabilities
  • Verify CoAs (Certificates of Analysis) and customer’s ingredient quality approvals to release ingredients for use in Production
  • Manage ingredient usage per quality attributes and modify proposed blend formulation to reduce waste and optimize operational efficiencies
  • Review and verify CCP (Critical Control Point) records comply with HACCP Plan
  • Ensure Positive Release records are verified for finished products
  • Manage records related to incoming ingredients shelf-life extensions, customer Fact Sheets, CCP, PCQI, non-conforming materials, and finished product holds/releases
  • Support Blending personnel in resolving out-of-specification blend issues
  • Liaise with internal (all departments) and external (customer R&D and procurement) interested parties
  • Serve as a back up to Quality & Food Safety Mgr to support Food Defense and PCQI authorizations
  • Comply with FDA, USDA, and GMP policies.  Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Food Safety, and Cost objectives.  Comply with all standard operating procedures and requirements under PRCP Quality System.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process and internal teams (HACCP, Food Safety, Organic)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Additional education which includes laboratory experience.   
  • Beverage formulation/application experience or operational experience in blending of liquid/dry ingredients.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand instructions given in English. 
  • Ability to work eight-hour shifts, 12 hour shifts or other work schedules as determined by business need, including overtime as required. 
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Ability to execute tasks independently, with the support of the senior manager
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Windows based applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Access and Word).
