Recruiting Specialist

Position Summary:

The main deliverable for this position is filling the pipeline for all Big Cedar positions and ensuring that hiring managers have ample qualified candidates to select from to fill their open positions.  This will require innovating new sources and partnerships and maintaining great relationships with partnerships already established.  This position also requires that the recruiter be a business partner with hiring managers and works with them to anticipate and plan for seasonal openings.

 

Expected Contributions:

  • Fill the applicant pipeline.

  • Partner with mangers to create accurate staffing guides, particularly for seasonal staffing needs.

  • Meet regularly with hiring managers to anticipate hiring needs.

  • Ensure that the HRS system is kept current and that candidates are moving through the process in a timely manner.

  • Track and report on relevant data such as; time to fill, sourcing, cost per hire, etc.

  • Manage the various recruiting programs. Work with high schools, colleges, universities, Internal recruiting agencies and other community groups to conduct job fairs and fill the recruiting pipeline.

  • Create and maintain recruiting partnerships with winter seasonal businesses

  • Each year assist with the creation and execution of a recruiting plan that will meet the staffing needs of Big Cedar.

  • Build screening interviews tailored for each position for both HR and hiring managers.

  • Build and manage an online presence in social media to attract talent and build the Big Cedar employment brand.

     

  • Essential Functions:

  • Develop Workforce and HR Metrics linked to business metrics.

  • Create an applicant experience that promotes the Big Cedar employment brand as a “Best Place to Work.”

  • Training Managers on how to use the applicant tracking system

  • Ensure that HR and hiring manager interviews are legal and effective

  • Communicate effectively and professionally orally and in writing with managers, partners and candidates.
     

Candidate Profile:

  • Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED;

  • 2 years’ experience in the human resources, recruiting, or related professional area preferred.

  • 4 year degree in a related field preferred

  • Experience with international recruiting, specifically H2B and J1 Visas strongly preferred

  • Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

  • Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules that apply to job (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA, ASI).

  • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

  • Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
