Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Assistant Logistics Manager is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the logistics department. Duties will include the organization, scheduling and direction of the logistics department, on a day-to-day work plan. Coordinates logistic activities under the direction of the VP-Logistics, trains logistics personnel to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and delivery plan resulting in the on-time delivery of product to customer and ECMD operating companies.

This position requires that the employee perform all essential duties as assigned which shall include the following:

  1. Responsible for organizing and scheduling of logistics staff.
  2. Responsible for training logistics personnel.  
  3. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
  4. Keeps up-to-date and knowledgeable about all aspects of the distribution processes that are necessary in order to be efficient.
  5. Such other duties and assignments that shall be made from time to time to employee from any member of the Company's management.      

Requirements:

  1. Background in transportation management, DOT regulations and compliance.
  2. Knowledge and experience in filing IFTA taxes, 2290 HVUT taxes, and all filings required by the state of North Carolina.
  3. Knowledge of DOT regulations required.
  4. Basic knowledge of class A vehicles and driver requirements.
  5. Good communication and computer skills. 
  6. Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  7. Must be able to travel as needed to any of our locations. 
  8. Valid and appropriate driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
