Summary:  To wait on tables promptly, courteously and to serve the guest in a professional manner. To exemplify the Big Cedar service standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  include the following but not limited to:

1.    Perform fine dining service following proper procedures.

2.    Inform the guest of beverage offerings and be familiar with menus and specials. Upsell whenever possible.

3.    Setup and pre-bus tables along with doing side work.

4.    Fold napkins.

5.    Smile and greet all guests in a pleasant manner, using surnames when     obtained.

6.     Follow liquor liability laws.

7.     Be able to lift 50 pounds/ climb stairs.

8.     Be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

9.     Polish flatware in assigned area. 

10.     Complete assigned side work duties.

11.     Regularly attend all departmental meetings.

12.     Be able to count money and accurately perform basic accounting procedures.

13.     Assist with the setup and the maintenance of buffet tables and food. 

14.     Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

If working as a Room Service Server, a safe driving record and a Missouri E or Arkansas P designation driver's license. 

Other Skills and Abilities: 

The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.
