Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Chemistry/Lab Work OR AA Degree in Chemistry OR Previously completed training in Chemistry and Lab Safety

  • Lab safety knowledge
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Copying Machine
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
Duties:

Laboratory and Administrative Assistant at the R6 EPA Houston Lab (LSASD). Provides support in the receipt/login and preparation of samples, data entry/archival of lab data, and general administrative support of the Division's overall science mission.

  • Assists with analytical lab areas such as sample preparation, setting up equipment, cleaning glassware, or data reduction.   30%
  • Assists with maintaining a clean lab space such as removal of excess equipment or labware.    30%
  • Backup in sample login. Provides login support, which includes unpacking sample containers, data entry, and disposal.   15%
  • Provides general clerical support, such as archival of electronic data, typing letters, maintaining calendars, etc.    25%
