Modeled after the family farms that once dotted the Ozark landscape, Finley Farms honors the true spirit of the Ozarks’ agricultural beginnings—through time honored techniques, education and a sense of pride. Finley Farms is a multi-parcel, small plot, high-yield farm that will include a variety of edibles from vegetables to fruit, herbs, and mushrooms. The farm produces seasonal products for the on-site farm market and restaurants. The farm is a dedicated resource and educational amenity for the area. The farm grows produce that is incorporated through a myriad of food, drinks and products throughout the entire property.

Position Summary

We are seeking a talented, innovative, and organized baker to produce a variety of baked goods for several dining and retail outlets located on the property. This individual should be interested in producing artisanal quality bread and is forward thinking in his/her craft.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create new recipes, incorporating locally milled flours, regional produce and seasonal products as part of menu development
  • Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients accurately
  • Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough
  • Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment
  • Monitor food items during the baking process
  • Decorate, glaze, apply icing, and prepare toppings for baked goods
  • Train new staff on company philosophies, practices, and products
  • Evaluate food ingredients for quality
  • Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment while observing consistently all company mandatory safety regulations
  • Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards
  • Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools
  • Order and receive supplies and materials as needed
  • Coordinate deliveries with Executive Chef and Purchasing department
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working as a professional baker with dough making experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand for extended periods of time
  • Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures, and ability to apply them consistently

Candidate Qualities

  • Passionate, team-oriented baker with a strong work ethic and an independent, can-do attitude
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
  • Solid background in dough, including but not limited to breads, pizzas, pastries, cakes and sauces with the knowledge of cake decorating techniques.  Duties will range from creative to redundant with medium to large volume baking on a daily basis.
  • Knowledgeable of kitchen baking equipment and its safe and efficient operation
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and other company personnel and work with others proficiently in a close environment with speed and efficiency
  • Ability to assess the quality of products and adjust preparation to maintain consistency and guest satisfaction
