Field Service Manager

We have current opening for Field Service Manager. At Equix, we support our customers, stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all our services, which include Pipeline Construction, Gas Distribution, Electrical Construction, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and Trenching Services. This person will work in multiple locations.

 

The field Service Manager will oversee field maintenance and prioritize tasks for all our Equix Energy Service field technicians.  They will oversee facilitating repairs and scheduling preventative maintenance for our field equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards
  • Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment
  • Monitors repair estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost overrun, prior to the job being completed
  • Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work team by setting the standard for others to follow
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations
  • Train and mentor others in the department
  • Wears proper personal protective equipment
  • Approximately 60% of time will be working out of established reporting location
  • Approximately 40% travel to jobsites / EES facilities in FL, GA, AL, TX which may fluctuate based on business needs
  • Prioritize repairs and develop workflow based on needs of field / crews for mechanics
  • Communicate with Area Managers when repairs can take place, and schedule repairs for minimal downtime
  • Call and manage repairs with local shops for third party repairs
  • Advise all field technicians on work needing to be done and develop repair lists to work off of
  • When needed diagnose and perform designated repairs on equipment
  • Perform field audits

 

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in fleet or construction industry preferred
  • 5 years of experience in fleet management
  • Experience working on heavy equipment such as excavator/directional drill rigs/skid loaders/dozers
  • DOT on road vehicles
  • Understand DOT regulations under FMCSA and the Floridia DOT
  • Good communication skills –bilingual is a plus
  • Good computer skills, be able to work in excel and a fleet management software
  • Valid driver’s license with CDL is preferred
  • Fed Med Card preferred
