Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is a key business partner assisting the BU Controller in managing the company's financial information and processes. The Accounting Manager oversees the general accounting functions, including month-end close, corporate financial reporting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals prepared by the accounting team.
  • Analyze financial statements and variances to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and load financial reports to the parent company consolidation software.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and projections.
  • Oversee the AR and AP functions, including invoicing, billing, collections, payments, and vendor management.
  • Monitor aging reports, collections activities, and credit policies to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient processing of AR and AP transactions.
  • Manages the accounting staff responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience at a public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Management experience required.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and experience working with financial modules is desirable.
