An Equix Traveling Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will work alongside their peers (Skilled Laborers, Driller, Welders, and Pipefitters), doing everything possible to keep equipment in prestige working condition. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate self-leadership, seek opportunities for personal growth, accepts feedback and demonstrates the ability to learn and apply.
  • Preference for extensive experience working on diesel powered engines.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed. Travel required.
  • Ability to analyze malfunctions and repairs and perform preventative maintenance and regular repairs on various pieces of heavy equipment included but not limited to Vermeer Drills, Bulldozers, Excavators, Backhoes, loaders, skid steers.
  • Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, etc.
  • Perform annual DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Troubleshoot problems, discussing with equipment manager options for making economical and durable repairs
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and equipment on a company-wide basis
  • Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains
  • Order parts and supplies
  • Adjust functional parts of devices, control instruments, and all types of equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Test equipment performance before and after repairs
  • Operate and maintain company-owned field service truck
  • Report status of work orders on mobile devices
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Heavy equipment mechanic experience/degree required.
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
  • Satisfactory result of pre-employment background screening if applicable.
  • Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record is preferred. Class A CDL preferred.
  • Traveling out of town to work on remote job sites when needed or directed by manager! This is a traveling opportunity; your flexibility is required.  States serviced include but are not limited to the following: Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas.
