Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We have current openings for Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics. At Equix, we support our customers, stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all our services, which include Pipeline Construction, Gas Distributions, Electrical Construction, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and Trenching Services. Will work in multiple locations: 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform annual DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Troubleshoot problems, discussing with equipment manager options for making economical and durable repairs
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and equipment on a company-wide basis
  • Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains
  • Order parts and supplies
  • Adjust functional parts of devices, control instruments, and all types of equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Test equipment performance before and after repairs
  • Operate and maintain company owned field service truck
  • Report status of work orders on mobile devices
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • Completion of a Diesel Technician school program is highly preferable
  • ASE certification or any other certification is highly preferable
  • Must be able to provide your own tools
  • Valid Driver’s License - Class A or B CDL required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, reach, stand, climb, kneel, and push
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
  • Travel to Jobsite Location(s)  Port Aransas, Kingsville areas
