Workforce Solutions WIOA Coordinator

The International Institute's Workforce Solutions (WFS) Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Coordinator leads our WIOA employment program to ensure we meet our targets and outcomes for employment and training for New Americans and assists with related job placement and career advancement programs within the department. This is a full-time position, based both in the office and remotely at this time, and reports to the Director of Workforce Solutions.

Duties

  • Outreach, identify, screen and enroll WIOA Limited English Proficiency (LEP) job seekers
  • Coach individual job seekers to assess barriers, strengths, and needs for individualized service and on-going support
  • Connect job seekers to internal and external opportunities and services to meet individual needs and provide connections to training opportunities
  • Provide regular communication and connection with clients with detailed case notes and consistent follow up
  • Collaborate with outside partners for communication and reporting efforts
  • Maintain accurate documentation and monitoring of program progress, including compiling monthly report data and other required reports for submission
  • Manage all required documentation, coordination, and execution of WIOA subcontract
  • Facilitate communication with One Stop Operator to relays updates for implementation, and participate in cross-organizational efforts
  • Assist with Workforce Solutions team activities and broad services
  • Performs quality assurance reports and maintenance for WFS programs and grants
  • Support WFS volunteers and assist with daily task management of AmeriCorps member for WFS team
  • Other tasks and duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years' professional experience, preferably in social service/non-profit field
  • Strong proficiency using web-based client database programs, Microsoft Office, and other digital literacy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and familiarity working with non-native English speakers
  • Experience with data management and extensive documentation experience
  • Well-organized and detail orientated, able to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Experience in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment preferred
  • Professionalism with a strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated and self-starter

Preferred

  • Language ability in at least one other language
  • Familiarity with WIOA Adult program and service offerings
