National Accounts Representative -Onsite Target, Fridley, MN - ATS Inc.

Summary

To serve as a liaison between Target and ATS customer service and operations staff to ensure that the loads will arrive at its final destination in a safely, timely and efficient manner.  To strengthen and enhance the customer relationship by implementing sound marking and customer service principles to sell ATS Vans service.

Education and Experience

  1. Higher education (i.e. two- or four-year degree) in related area and/or two to three years of training in a related area and/or equivalent experience in a customer driven environment.

  2. A good understanding of marketing, sales, and customer service principles, and a strong working knowledge of van freight and specialized equipment usually gained through 1 - 2 years of training in related area and/or equivalent related experience.

  3. Experience in the transportation industry preferred but not required.

  4. Knowledge of Department of Transportation laws preferred but not required

  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

  6. Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).

  7. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.

  8. Strong customer service and time management skills, with a drive for results who can persevere in the face of resistance or setbacks in a fast-paced environment.

  9. Self-motivated and able to work independently.

  10. Excellent analytical, customer relations, sales, and negotiation skills, general knowledge of U.S. geography and basic map-reading skills.

  11. Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply data.

  12. Proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.

  13. Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Sells ATS service to potential customers.

  2. Contacts existing or inactive customers to sell ATS service to them through inside sales efforts (i.e., telemarketing, written correspondence).

  3. Qualifies new customers by matching ATS and customer needs (geographics, products, objectives, etc.).

  4. Enters and records all terms and conditions of sales/loads (i.e., load specifications, negotiated rates, dates) in the computer system.

  5. Provides professional, courteous customer service by serving as liaison between customer and ATS operations.

  6. Communicates with the regional account manager to assess and distribute current information on the development and needs of customers.

  7. Communicates with dispatchers to provide information on the current service needs of customers.

  8. Obtains credit approval on customers' loads by verifying current credit status and working with the credit department as needed.

  9. Communicates with customers and ATS personnel to answer questions, and investigate/resolve problems as needed.

  10. Track and report on level of service on a continuous basis.

  11. Create, communicate, and update SOP’s required by the customer or ATS Operations to ensure site and safety compliance for the fleet and customer.

  12. Work with the Safety Department, Operations, Customer, and Customer Service to address/resolve onsite Safety issues.

  13. Track in-progress and pre-assigned loads in a proactive manner.

  14. Complete and provide necessary paperwork to send with loads and for office use.

  15. Serves as back-up to the Vans Pricing Coordinator.

  16. Meets all company and department objectives and deadlines.

  17. Follows all company and department policies and procedures.

  18. Completes all duties in accordance with sound marketing and customer service principles.

  19. Works within budget that is set for the department.

  21. Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours and infrequent travel may be required.
