Certified Nursing Assistant - Phlebotomist -FT

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Phlebotomist is responsible for providing personal care to Patients within Bridgemoor Transitional Care (BTC). 

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required
• Minimum of one (1) year of Phlebotomy experience required
• Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician required
• CPR Certification from the American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
• Excellent communication skills with a hospitality mindset
• Passionate and ability to work well with others
• Strong team player

* Assist Patients with personal care, which may include: bathing/showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, assistance with using hearing aids/glasses, hair care and toileting
• Assist with treatments per individualized care plan
• Follow patient assignment schedule as made out by nursing supervisor. This requires the ability to be mentally alert and communicate verbally, in writing, and enter data into EMR regarding patient’s condition and care
• Answer call lights in a timely manner. Be alert to patient’s
comforts and needs. Answer their requests promptly
• Draws and collects blood samples from patients
• Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient
• Process the samples through the necessary lab equipment.
• Practice proper patient identification
• Label vials with patient names and dates
• Transport all specimen samples to the laboratory
• Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status
• Keep phlebotomy cart or station well-organized at all times
• Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment
• Complete assigned training on time and/or attend training classes when scheduled
• Sign in to EMR at the beginning of shift to obtain required tasks for the needs of Patients
• Abide by all policy and procedures that pertain to the role
• Abide by all necessary competency requirements for employment

• Performs other duties as assigned

• As assigned; including some weekends, evenings and holidays. Non-Exempt position.
