CowaterSogema is currently seeking service providers (mainly organizations & companies) to register in the Pool of Consultants who are interested to undertake technical assistance carried out by the Canadian Trade and Investment Facility for Development (CTIF). CTIF is a seven-year project launched in September 2018. CTIF will support priority trade and investment related capacity building and policy reforms that have a high potential to reduce poverty in developing countries in the Asia Pacific. CTIF is a demand-driven mechanism that will respond to local beneficiaries’ needs through implementation of mandates/projects.
The Facility will focus on the following programming categories:
Category 1 – Trade and Regional Integration
Category 2 – Inclusive trade and investment policy development and implementation
Category 3 – Business Services and other Service Sectors Development
Category 4 – Infrastructure Development
Category 5 - Financial Sector Development
Category 6 – Trade and Gender
Category 7 – Trade and Sustainable Development/Climate Change
Indicative technical assistance initiatives will include, but are not limited to:
- Advisory support
- Study tours
- Policy research
- Stakeholder engagement
- Institutional development
The main project beneficiaries are regional institutions, national and local governments that are engaged in trade and investment policy reforms that promote inclusive growth and civil society organizations and firms that are expected to benefit from these reforms. Beneficiaries are located in ODA-eligible Asia Pacific countries. Currently, eligible countries include:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kiribati, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Niue, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wallis and Futuna.
Individual project duration will depend on approved applications from beneficiaries and could take from one week to a year.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada or be a registered entity in Canada.
