We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representataive looking for stability within the Aviation industry.
POSITION TITLE: Technical Sales Rep-Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Director of MRO Services / VP of Technical Sales
OBJECTIVE: To clearly understand what our customers feel is the benefit and advantage provided by our services and products and communicate this information effectively resulting in an increase in sales, numerous first time customers and delighted repeat customers.
GENERAL PHILOSOPHY: To build customer loyalty through service excellence in a work environment where the teammates enjoy their work because they have accepted responsibility for the success of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A strong working knowledge of all the capabilities, promotional products and experience offered by the maintenance department.
Utilize company provided databases to correlate promotional products with perspective customers. Visit customers to generate proposals and nurture relationships.
Consistently maintain quota for proposals generated and captured.
Increase Banyan's exposure to the larger corporate aircraft.
Increase average revenue per installation from current levels.
Assist with sales and marketing strategies, developing new promotional products.
Follow up systematically on all leads provided and capture the data in the system utilized by the company marketing department.
Perform cold calls to non-customers.
Formulate proposals based on customer requests.
Provide customer feedback constantly to the VP and Director of MRO Services in order for teammates to continue improving service.
Seek out potential customers that may be unaware of our capabilities and services.
Communicate with new and existing customers, in person and over the telephone to build a relationship as lifetime customers for Banyan Air Service.
Visit non-customers on a regular basis.
Keep good customer contact records of all prospecting and quoting events.
Know the competitors and why customers are purchasing from them.
Assist in the timely resolution of problems, complaints, quotes and follow up of customers.
Ensure that service and product pricing remains current and competitive and communicate this information frequently.
Maintain close communication with technical departments to assist in customer satisfaction to ensure they are repeat customers.
Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Conform to all safety rules and ensure that all employees wear/use all appropriate safety equipment.
To be fully proficient in this position, teammate must possess the following:
A thorough knowledge of avionics systems on large and medium corporate aircraft.
A complete knowledge of Banyan’s customers,
A knowledge of competitors and their strengths and weaknesses,
A knowledge of FAA guidelines and regulations and Banyan Repair Station Inspection Manual,
A strong knowledge of Banyan vendors,
Strong management skills for both customers and teammate,
Knowledge of Banyan’s computer system,
Complete knowledge and understanding of the Banyan Team Handbook,
Knowledge of the operation of hangar doors, hangar lights, night-lights, and procedures for locking the facility, aircraft, and general security,
Knowledge of the location of keys for prop locks, oil storage, metal cabinets, tools, closets, and doors,
Knowledge of all the departments of the company, their function and their personnel,
Working knowledge, knowledge of the location, purpose, and use of:
1. Repair Station Manuals and departmental capabilities
- Manufacturer Inspection Forms
4. Discrepancy sheets and clip boards
5. Parts Requisition forms and equipment tagging
6. Aircraft and parts manuals and microfiche
7. FAA manuals and advisory circulars
8. Malfunction or defect report
9. Purchase Orders and Work Authorizations, quoting
10. Work Order Invoice and Parts Invoice forms
11. Central shipping and receiving department
12. Weather/Bahamas documentation
Knowledge and understanding of the company policies,
Knowledge of your own employment status and the forms necessary to keep updated for FAA requirements,
Knowledge of responsibility for:
1. Customer items in aircraft
2. Clean up
3. Discrepancies completed
4. Items remaining and the conditions in which uncompleted items were communicated
5. Run-up and completion,
- Teambuilding, conflict resolution, motivation, training
- Parts procurement and sourcing
Knowledge of responsibility for facility and aircraft security and all aspects of safety.
Requires knowledge of avionics systems associated with medium and large corporate aircraft, F.C.C. license or technician’s license, plus a minimum of 5-7 years experience in the maintenance field. Three years customer service background and proven skills are also required.
Requires avionics sales experience with basic technical exposure to King Air, Citation, Lear-jet, Pilatus, Gulfstream, Challenger, Falcon, Boeing and Hawker aircraft. Prior experience in the establishment and execution of detailed marketing strategy to attract and retain customers. Ideal Candidate will have a proven track record in both sales and database management with 1 - 5 years aviation industry experience.

Excellent written communication and organizational skills. PC literacy in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Lotus Notes with contact manager experience. Spanish a plus.
