Avionics Installers Needed

This position is full-time, non-exempt and reports to the Avionics Installation Suoervisor and Avioncs Manager

OBJECTIVE:          To provide quality installation of avionics packages on all aircraft types.

GENERAL PHILOSOPHY:   To build customer loyalty through service excellence in a work environment where the teammates enjoy their work because they have accepted responsibility for the success of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install aircraft avionics systems and components.  Including: Com/Nav, ADF, Transponder, DME, Radar, Audio systems and navigation instrumentation and systems as outlined in manufacturer’s installation manuals and/or Banyan engineered wiring diagrams.

Assist in drawing and modifying engineering diagrams to support installation process.

Perform aircraft wiring routing and connection terminations to new systems and existing systems.

Direct and accomplish troubleshooting on post installation checks.

Perform fabrication on test panels.

Assist with line troubleshooting when called upon.

Stamp wires and fabricate wire harness for installation into aircraft.

Perform safety inspections on the installation of avionics equipment.

Accomplish complete final systems check-out after installations.

Support certification processes including data development and system check-outs during test flights.

Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Conform with all safety rules and wears/uses all appropriate safety equipment.

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

To be fully proficient in this position, teammate(s) must possess or acquire the following through on-the-job training:

A complete knowledge of Banyan’s customers,

A thorough knowledge of FAA guidelines and regulations,

A working knowledge of Ft. Lauderdale’s Executive Airport, including the location of hangars, tie-downs, fuel farm, tower, U.S. Customs, all other FBOs and service providers located at the airport,

A complete knowledge of the operation and care of all shop equipment and tools,

A thorough knowledge of work panels,

Knowledge of accident or emergency procedures,

A working knowledge of taxiways, runways, routes used to cross taxiways, and other locations on the airport including the run-up area,

Knowledge of the operation of hangar doors, hangar lights, night-lights, and procedures for locking the facility, aircraft, and general security,

Knowledge of the departmental of the company, their function and their personnel,

Working knowledge, knowledge of the location, purpose, and use of:

1.       Time accounting

2.       Repair Station Manual

3.       Parts Manuals requisition forms, green, yellow, and red tags

4.       Aircraft and Parts Manuals and Microfiche

5.       FAA form 337

6.       Malfunction or defect report

7.       Purchase Orders and Work Authorizations

8.       Work Order Invoice and Parts Invoice forms

9.       Manufacturer Inspection Forms

10.     Discrepancy sheets and clip boards

Knowledge of the departments of the company, their function and their personnel.

Knowledge of teammate’s employment status and the forms necessary to keep updated for FAA and drug testing requirements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent, electronics courses, certification from various avionics manufacturers, previous FAA repairman certificate rating, and a minimum of five years of previous related experience.
